Since this news has been grotesquely twisted by the media as usual, here's an honest account :

Jasmin Jaffar, an influencer, posted a "reel" where she is seen washing her feet in the pond.

Rudratheertham - sacred pond is located in the northern side of the temple and its water is exclusively used for rituals like bathing Lord Krishna. It's not intended for general use by devotees - Hindu or otherwise.

Filming reels / tiktoks are forbidden in restricted zones (pond, nadapanthal) for visitors/devotees- Hindu or otherwise.

Non Hindus are restricted from entering restricted zones - including the pond : precisely because it's hard to explain to non believers why using the water they washed their feet, for bathing Lord Krishna vigraha is not acceptable to believers. A practicing Hindu understands this intuitively.

If I go to a church or mosque, I can't possibly know the norms there- my best bet would be to ask the devotees there.

Now one might ask, may be she didn't know ? Maybe for Muslims, it's common to wash hands and feet in the place or worship. Perhaps this is not malice, but ignorance ? I don't know of her past behavior. No one knows her intentions, except her and God Himself.

In any case, she has apologized.

Temples are places of worship, just like Mosques and Churches. Anyone who seeks to pray can come, provided they respect the rules of the place. Reeliyas and Tiktokiyas aren't welcome in any place of worship - be it Temple, Mosque or Church.

Now coming to the reaction of the temple :

If a Hindu ( or more likely a HINO : Hindu in name only) did the same thing (taking videos and washing feet in Rudratheertham) , then that is WRONG too. In fact, a Hindu won't get the benefit of doubt - for he can't claim ignorance, just like a Muslim can't claim ignorance of norms in a Mosque and a Christian in a Church.

In any case, the temple is fully justified in doing what it deems necessary to remedy the situation. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone except the devotees. In fact, they should use this opportunity to install big boards everywhere so that no one can say they didn't know.
