“I’m disappointed in them.”

“They need to educate themselves.”

“They need to apologize.”

“This isn’t the BTS I know.”

“They need to explain why they did this.”

“They need to stop working with that company.”

“They need to prove they still support _____.”

Now, READ THIS PART TWICE:

Being disappointed isn’t inherently parasocial.

Criticizing BTS isn’t inherently parasocial. Disagreeing with BTS isn’t inherently parasocial.

👉🏽It becomes corrective parasocial behavior when:

“You violated the identity I assigned to you, therefore you owe me corrective behavior that restores you to that identity.”👈🏽

That’s different.
