‘A Sign - And Did Father Christmas Come Here Even?’ is one of Peter Brook’s most enigmatic titles, presumably a reference to the incongruity of the CND symbol appearing on a remote, long-since ruined Pennine farmhouse, the shadowy figure in the doorway posing a further question.
