I would have switched to the Japanese version years ago, but even though the servers are merged, accounts made one on regional version of the game can only be played from that same version.
It frustrates me so much how dire Dx2's English TL is. Aside from countless times they've mistranslated skill effects, the thing annoying me the most is the outrageous frequency in which they spontaneously refer to existing game terminology by completely different names.
Possibly caused by constantly cycling new interns and making no attempt to familiarise them with the game or its TL. The reason doesn't matter, it really tilts me that people are getting paid to do the worst possible job on a game I like.
I suppose if you tell a mysterious story in a poem like manner, with potentially unreliable narrators, and are also reading it through a translation, there's bound to be confusion. Even after reading it many times, I'm uncertain about a lot of things...
Every time I hear someone talk about DiPP, it's always totally different interpretation of the story than the one I got. "The honest men were actually criminals." WHAT? "The killer was Alice." WHAT? "Maybe it was Clownpiece." WHAT? "The story was set in the 19th century." WHAT?
