she/her/hers Museum worker. Lover of all things pop culture and feminist. Extra queer and lazy femme who dreams of being hard femme. Indoor kid for life.
@sarahhollowell This show is why my bff and I had a long standing deal where I would ask her ahead of time what kind of response - honest opinion or just you do you support - she was looking for, and she could change at any time. When we shopped for her dress we 100% did this and it rocked.
@RachelCraves @readytostare Came here to also shoutout the Boston show, which is incredible (was lucky to see it three years running pre covid). Boston burlesque is definitely getting back on its feet, so fingers crossed
@ccboomer I get for people working from home or in their own office it’s probably an easy way to do rounds, but it does make me want to scream “I have to commute the 60-90 minutes home to do this, you are really fucking with my current job here!”
A real hitch I wasn't expecting in the job search process in the Now Times is everyone assuming I can do a zoom call, but like 6 of them. I work in person. I do not have my own office. How much work are you expecting me to skip for this, and will you hire me when I get sacked?
@ccboomer Yeah it’s not ideal. I did one yesterday and have another one next week and there’s the sense that I’ll have another couple. And all this is for a job that might be PT!
Come stand in your kitchen while reading this and cry with me. It’s an incredible piece of writing, and so far my favorite piece written about Sondheim. https://t.co/r6Ijd8CUPy
My birthday is actually tomorrow, so the actual tattoo won’t happen for a couple months since everyone’s gonna be booked, but whatever, this feels incredible.
My roommate just told me they’re getting me my first tattoo for my birthday, the Sondheim one I’ve wanted for years. After this weekend, I unsurprisingly burst into tears.
The finale from his 80th Birthday celebration. Performers from all the then-running Broadway shows came to sing 'Sunday' to him.
He seemed so moved. Beautiful. ❤️
I don’t know if the current run of Assassins has the added Something Just Broke in it, but if so, the sincerest luck to the company trying to get through that tonight and not simply laying down on the stage to cry.
One of my favorite moments happened during Sunday at the end of that show. I became so overwhelmed by the beauty of music and art that I sobbed, and I turned to the stranger next to me, who was doing the same thing, and we just stared into each other’s eyes and understood.
@darlinginmyway I was lightly crying reading the news, but I just walked into the other room to tell my roommate and just saying it out loud made me ugly sob.
