ARE WE NOT ASHAMED? DO WE NOT CARE?
I am deeply saddened by the disaster in Chivhu. Last week, Kariba. Then the government-backed demolition of homes and buildings belonging to innocent citizens.
Almost every week, Zimbabweans are confronted by preventable tragedy and suffering. These are not statistics. These are our people. Our families. Our citizens.
To those at the political helm: Does this not concern you?
Where is the urgency?
Where is the accountability?
Where is the leadership?
Where is the compassion for We, the Citizens?
We cannot normalise suffering. We cannot look away.
Zimbabwe deserves leadership that puts the lives, dignity and welfare of its citizens first.
WE, THE CITIZENS, MUST GOVERN!

Yesterday we received the painful news of the passing of mdara Archiford Marongwe, a veteran of our struggle and one of the courageous men who helped plant the seeds of the democratic movement in Goromonzi.

His was not an easy journey. When the brutal regime unleashed its machinery of repression in Goromonzi, his car was burnt, he was tortured and subjected to the full weight of political persecution. He paid a deeply painful price for choosing to stand on the side of the oppressed.

He stood firm until the very end carried with him the scars, sacrifices and dignity of President Tsvangirai’s generation, a generation that refused to accept authoritarianism as our permanent fate.

We have to honour Mdara Marongwe

We have to carry on the fight.
