So we see here that if the system works well, there are checks to address the concerns raised Before, during and After the run of a project.

So I get the feeling that this discussion was never about really the concerns raised just an opportunity for political scoring.

This is a quite problematic approach that wastes tax payers money and time. I explain:

Projects are funded based on Calls.

Calls are prepared by the executive branch (EC) after their framework (scope, objectives, funding rules etc.) are approved by the EP and the Council.

After these projects finish, they need to prepare a Final Report that includes information on all aspects of the project. These reports are again checked by the funders (EC).

Some projects might also be selected to be audited by external professionals.
