Bungie says it's "not done" with Destiny and all vaulted Destiny 2 content will soon return
"We have more stories to tell, but we have to do it right and give our teams the time they need to do justice to this amazing universe"
Great news for Destiny fans!
Bungie confirmed it is bringing vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations, and raids back into the game for all players.
The studio also said it is “not done with” Destiny. More stories and games are planned, they just didn’t say Destiny 3.
Unvaulting will take time. Old content is being rebuilt to current standards, with more details coming in the months ahead.
Context: in May/June they announced Monument of Triumph as the final live-service update and left a lot of paid history locked in the vault. Player pushback was loud. This looks like a direct response, restore the past first, then talk about the future.
It is the right first step. Whether it actually rebuilds trust depends on how fast the content returns and whether the “more stories and games” part has real weight behind it.
What do you want unvaulted first?
Bungie has said it is "absolutely not done with Destiny" just months after its controversial decision to end ongoing support for Destiny 2. https://t.co/FpiUscXzXC
I never want to hear that your voice doesn't matter or that you can't make these companies change.
They need YOUR MONEY. YOUR LOYALTY.
Without it they fail.
While I applaud the change in direction, it was the players that made this happen. Not Bungie and definitely not Sony.
Bungie has shared an update on the future of Destiny and Marathon and knows it has much work to do to win players back.
The plan includes returning vaulted Destiny 2 content such as old campaigns, destinations, and raids. This will not happen overnight, as the content needs technical updates first.
Destiny remains a major part of its plans, with the October Nightfall Refresh and December Symbiosis update incoming.
Bungie wants to expand Marathon beyond its original extraction-shooter formula with more modes, including PvE, PvP, and PvPvE.
The studio understands player frustration and must prove change through the games themselves.

Destiny lives
All content will be unvaulted. New games are coming in the future
Vocal player pushback and showing up for Monument of Triumph was a big factor in this happening
Have never seen a reversal quite like this. Incredible
