Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: KEENAN DAVIS- "I came to SOVA because I wanted to expand what I knew about art in a broad way I guess. I always appreciated the arts, and tried my hand at creating from time to time, but my practice never went farther than that."
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: DYLAN BODKIN- "I have a lot of good SOVA memories, especially from running The Royal Foxhunt Athletic Society and Social Club radio show with Keenan Davis and getting to play hockey with teachers"
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: CORMAC HOPKINS- " I’m hoping to work on tattooing a bit and also keep up with my dancing. My dream however is to be a rockstar drummer in a metal band just like Motley Crüe but more brutal."
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: JULAINE DEBOGORSKI - "This work has helped prepare me to navigate the current state of global grief we are in. My only plans are to sit tight in Dawson, create when I can, help spread joy, and wait and see."
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: Saskia Blagaj-Berger- "My art is a necessity of something I feel the need to create or internalize in that moment. The importance is in the process and the feeling it brings out of me."
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: John from Dawson- "I plan to follow my music career, putting to use all the useful skills I’ve learned from SOVA for my lyrics, album covers, and music videos."
Meet the #SOVAClassof2020: Nicci Favron- "This year, I’ve had the opportunity to try as many new things as possible. I found out that I like pretty much everything—as long as I’m creating, I’m happy"
On the left are tracks left by a mama moose on a frozen settling pond, on the right is documentation of SOVA student Nicci's endurance-based performance. Over the course of two days she dug out the trail left by the moose crossing the pond! Beautiful work, Nicci! 👏
