I am so fucking tired of being told to “understand” everything.
“Understand how things work in China.”
“Understand the government.”
“Understand the culture.”
“Understand why the company stays silent.”
“Understand why they can’t respond.”
“Understand why this is complicated.”
No.
I understand perfectly well that every country has its own ugly social problems. Mine certainly does. Misogyny, violence against women, institutional abuse, xenophobia, harassment, shitty laws, shitty social norms. None of this is uniquely Chinese.
And this is not “China versus international players.”
Chinese women have been speaking out against the same behavior, asking the same questions and demanding accountability from the same company for months.
The existence of harmful practices or social problems in any society does not make them an acceptable standard for a company operating globally.
Infold sells a game to women in China and around the world. They take our money. They market intimacy, safety, companionship and emotional attachment. Their own developers have proudly talked about making these characters feel real, making players feel less alone, creating the experience of having someone reliable beside you.
They understood perfectly well that our feelings had commercial value when those feelings made us spend money.
And now, when women are hurt, furious, exhausted and telling them that this situation has genuinely affected them, suddenly we are supposed to shut up because “it’s just pixels”?
Fuck that.
For months we have watched xenophobic garbage, harassment, reports of doxxing, graphic violent content and people casually dragging one of the most horrific chapters of Chinese history, Unit 731, through a fucking fandom war.
And what is Infold’s public position on any of this?
Where is it?
What exactly are they afraid of saying?
“We do not support harassment.”
“We do not support doxxing.”
“We do not support xenophobia.”
“We do not support using historical atrocities as weapons against other players.”
“We expect basic standards of conduct in our community.”
Is that really too much to ask from a multimillion-dollar company that built its entire product around women?
And please stop using the Chinese government, or “how things work in China,” as a catch-all explanation for every decision Infold makes.
Chinese players themselves have been questioning the company’s behavior throughout this crisis.
Maybe there are external circumstances we do not know about. Fine. Maybe there are things the company genuinely cannot disclose. Fine.
Whatever external constraints may or may not exist, Infold is still responsible for its own communication, moderation choices, treatment of its audience and the public consequences of its decisions, both in China and internationally.
External circumstances do not explain three months of silence.
They do not explain selective moderation.
They do not explain contradictory communication.
They do not explain why the company apparently has enough control to delete criticism and block certain users, but somehow becomes completely helpless when much uglier behavior is happening in the same community.
At some point “this is complicated” stops being an explanation.
It becomes an excuse.
Infold wanted to become a global company. They wanted a global audience. They wanted global money.
Then behave like a global company.
You do not get to monetize women’s emotional attachment, build your product around trust and companionship, and then tell those same women that whatever happens around your community is simply something they need to “understand” and tolerate.
The fandom has already seen what this company looks like during a crisis.
We cannot unsee it.

For those who keep saying Infold couldn't do anything, it's good to remember:
➡️ Hypergryph (Arknights): Collaborated directly with local police and provided legal support to help dismantle an organized doxxing ring that harassed dozens of players, leading to arrests and official recognition by the Ministry of Public Security.
➡️ NetEase (Justice Mobile): Established a dedicated legal task force to gather evidence, issue public condemnations, and offer comprehensive legal assistance to players targeted by severe cyberbullying.
➡️ miHoYo (Genshin Impact / Honkai): Regularly leverages its legal department to provide direct assistance to players and content creators facing targeted harassment campaigns, as well as taking legal action against hate groups.
➡️ Jinjiang Literature: Created "green channels" (expedited support routes) specifically to offer legal aid to creators and users facing coordinated online harassment.
➡️ Standard Industry Protocols: Major Chinese digital platforms and publishers maintain public crisis-intervention guidelines that require customer support teams to trigger immediate escalation and alert local authorities during high-risk self-harm scenarios.
Equating criticism against corporate negligence with targeted harassment only serves to shield a company that chose to ignore its duty of care. 🫶🏻
not antis trying to twist the blame on the victim by saying "all this over ♻️?"
