There's no pre-arranged deal in place for John Carlson with Carolina. The Hurricanes just bought an early chance to speak with the pending UFA before the market opens Wednesday.
The minimum entry point on getting Carlson signed, no matter where he lands, is 2 x $10 M. There are other teams with interest who still want to get involved July 1 if Carolina doesn’t sign Carlson before then. Tampa? Boston? Philly?
Having said that, the Cup champs I think are on a list of 4-5 teams of interest to Carlson.

My real research into Maksim Sokolovskii begins.
Kid is a fantastic skater. Not on pure speed, but edge work and laterally movement. Great gap control and a strong ability to shut down elite talent with his stick & physicality.
He is a much better skater than Amico and McDonald
Martin Psohlavec to Philadelphia.
Scouts are impressed with his hands, because he doesn’t give opponents much to shoot at up high. He put up some remarkable numbers all season, including eight shutouts at the Czech U-20 level and a solid overall record at the U18s.
He really boosted his value at that tournament. #NHLDraft
TRADE 🔄
We've acquired forward Adam Edstrom from the Rangers in exchange for forward Massimo Rizzo and pick no. 148 in this year's draft.

@JacksonHockey_ I don't agree. Foerster is worth more than anyone trade in the Hughes trade. He's worth a lot more than people realize. He would not be included. Replace him with Berglund or another 1st and you're right.
I understand why people are upset that the #Flyers drafted Sokolovskii. He’s not the type of player that sells tickets.
But that doesn’t make you correct.
If he can be a good shutdown physical defenseman…that’s big to doing well in the playoffs. We saw playoff Risto..
