@RyanHanaWWP @YzermanSZN @TSN1040 @BradKrysko@m_bultman @iyer_prashanth A little off the specific topic, but I think you gotta deal AA as soon as possible and get what you can for him. He'd be a great asset to a contender but he's gonna continue to struggle as long as he's on a rebuilding team which will lower his value over time.
@GrindLinePod The fact that poor performance isn’t punished is a bigger issue. Bring up anyone. Give Ford and Terry a chance to play up. They’re not full NHL quality players but either are a few guys on the Wings right now. Keeping poor performers in their spot is a de-motivator.
It's hard to understand why guys like Neilsen, Ehn, and Perlini seem to be immune to performance-based demotions. Any trade value is highly diminished the longer they stay here. Move them down, or move them out. https://t.co/IPx9vhWYtP @WingedWheelPod@GrindLinePod
Keeping Blash might be more detrimental to the player's development than going with someone new. Can't do much with lack of talent, but the main job of a Head Coach is to ensure his guys are skating hard. Too often they're out-worked and out-"hearted". https://t.co/awQnyzyUJD
When there's no penalty for poor performance, it reduces motivation. It makes guys think their hard work isn't being noticed. If someone was doing a poor job in a position you were working hard to earn, and that person was immune from demotion, you'd feel mistreated.

@GrindLinePod My main issues with Blash:
Hardly anyone finishes their checks. They spin away. That's not a talent issue, its a coaching and player laziness issue. You won't see that from top teams. Also, if he sat or sent down non-performers (70, 29) it would offer more motivation for GR guys.
@GrindLinePod If the team becomes "toxic" as a result of giving younger guys a chance, I'd put that directly on Blashill. If he's a quality coach like you say, toxic shouldn't be an issue.
@GrindLinePod There isn't one surefire template to follow that will guarantee success in the future. Just as you'd think development has a better chance of success by keeping players in GR, I think more early experience in the NHL is better, especially when there's nothing to lose this season.
@GrindLinePod@WingedWheelPod I disagree. I think you bring up and send down anyone and everyone you can. Some players can succeed at a higher level, even though they haven't necessarily had huge success at a lower level. Ehn and Perlini have done nothing to benefit the development of this team.

I think this is a good insight as to why Dylan Larkin isn't wearing a "C". Some of those required leadership traits just aren't there. Not taking away from his abilities on the ice, but Leadership is next-level type stuff. https://t.co/XdhyaaFkwy
