I have lived in Minneapolis for 12 years and the drive home today was the worst road conditions I’ve ever been in. And I grew up in Duluth, so that’s saying a lot.
Roads were completely frozen over and cars were sliding down every hill causing multiple crashes.
I respect the National Weather Service, but I wish there would’ve been more urgency to the public on this.
We get blasted with do not drive messages when there’s a big snowstorm (even though most cars can get through snow) but nothing when it’s ice, which is the real killer.
I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I’ve said this before but: If a plane hit turbulence and the pilot panicked, aimed the nose to the ground and crashed, no one would say “Well, you try flying a plane in turbulence.” They would say “That is a bad pilot. That’s not how pilots should handle things.”
This seems like the sort of thing that would have been captured on video and widely disseminated by now. Is there video? If not, why?
Also keep in mind that VP Vance has a history of simply making things up (e.g. migrants eating dogs and cats).
People keep asking what that man was doing "at the scene". Do y'all not realize the "scene" of ICE operations in Minneapolis are literally our homes and local neighborhoods and businesses? Are we not supposed to live?
Read this. The Minnesota state prison system suggests Gregory Bovino outright lied about the target of the operation during which agents shot and killed Alex Pretti.
Just curious, is there ANYTHING that an ICE agent can do that Republicans will condemn as wrong? Anything at all? Or is it just automatically defend ICE no matter what now? That’s who you are?
It’s actually very simple. The president is trying to apprehend dangerous criminals and all the dangerous criminals live in states that didn’t vote for the president and also they didn’t do anything and also they’re your neighbors and also you’re next if you keep asking questions
A statement from the family of Alex Pretti, obtained by CNN:
"We are heartbroken but also very angry.
Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the hero term lightly. However his last thought and act was to protect a woman.
The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed.
Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you."
No, I'm sorry, I'm not learning about a guy named "Clavicular." I have got to draw the line somewhere. I have learned about so many guys already and every single one has added less to my life than the last. I am at capacity
‘just comply’ is fascinating advice from people who tried to overthrow the government because they lost an election and threw a yearlong tantrum over being asked to wear cloth on their face
The government smearing an American as a “domestic terrorist” after agents of the state murdered her, is stomach churning in a way I can’t really describe.
The video of ICE shooting the legal observer has begun disseminating, protect your sanity on the newsfeed if that’s not something you want to see today. If you can stomach it however, please take note of how incredibly inconsistent it is with the official DHS statement.
