A lawsuit on behalf of several formerly incarcerated women who were sexually assaulted by a guard at MCI Framingham was just filed by NLG member @ZacharyLown and Connie Tran.

Two young formerly-imprisoned women filed a lawsuit yesterday against a former prison guard for repeated sexual assaults, & against officials at the women’s prison in Framingham – the individuals responsible for protecting them, supervising guards and aiding their rehabilitation.
With this lawsuit the women seek to prevent any more women who are imprisoned in Massachussetts from becoming victims of sexual abuse due to Framingham’s failed policies. The women are represented by attorneys Connie Tran and Zachary Lown of Boston, MA.
For decades prison officials have been aware of the imminent risk of sexual assault that imprisoned women face at the hands of prison guards and their obligation to prevent it. Yet Framingham officials failed to prevent a prison guard from carrying out his abuse for nearly 6 mos.
For those in Boston and Suffolk County MA, please read this thread by the Chief of Innovation and Strategy for @DARollins before you vote. It articulates much of the progress made under DA Rollins that was simply thrown away by Kevin Hayden. Where do we want to go a city?
If the only criticism of Shannon Liss-Riordan is that she spent her own money to win then I am not changing my vote. If you told me her policies were wrong I’d pay attention.
Globe reported 2005 allegation as “coerced sex.” Docs unsealed. No threats or violence. Globe now says: Ricardo, 17, “pressured” his HS gf to give him oral sex. Then finds law prof to say he’s guilty anyway. Then finds NY cop to say “unfounded” doesn’t mean what it actually means
Globe’s headline on @RicardoNArroyo: law enforcement does not question validity of allegations. Body of text: BPD defines “unfounded” as “did not occur.”
Journalists have vast power. They can use that power to amplify voices & the presumption of innocence, or they can destroy people who challenge the status quo through biased & incomplete reporting. We have long known the damage they can do. @BostonGlobe should be deeply ashamed.
I encourage everyone who can see the lie for themselves to share the information far and wide with friends, family and community. Do not expect white corporate media to do it for you especially before election day on Tuesday. #bospoli
