@DukeDigest Miles Plumlee, the two handed dunk against Boston College was one of the best dunks I have seen. Mason was the better player but Miles was an athletic freak.
@Chad4328 Lord have mercy posting this right before Pentecost is like saying, “I can’t read Scripture, and care nothing for the history or tradition of the church.”
@TerriGreenUSA Boys howdy you are going to hate when you read about Pentecost and the resurrection accounts in all four gospels. But you know go on ahead and misappropriate Paul, just know proof texting is easy, good exegesis is hard, and most don’t have the stomach for it.
@KevinMNelsonUSA@CollinRugg Read the gospel of John after the feeding of the five thousand and tell me Judas didn’t sin, also there is no expectation that the disciples were sinless and often in the gospels and in acts they are called out for their sin. At least read the Bible before you misappropriate it.
@KevinMNelsonUSA@CollinRugg Boy you are going to hate it when you find out that Jesus washed the feet of Judas right before Judas betrayed him. In that same section of the Gospel of John Jesus also says, "By the way you love others will know who you follow."
@Eric_Conn Boys howdy you are gonna hate it when you read Acts or any early Christian writer, Justin/Gregory/Irenaeous/ even Orign or Polycarp. Really the more recent development would be the subjugation of women.
@markdtooley It’s interesting to see an arsonist standing beside a fire they were responsible for saying, “Oh my goodness can you believe this thing burned down. All I did was cover it in gasoline light a match and throw it on the gas. Oh well, come to this building I haven’t burned down.”
Getting her an engagement ring for Christmas?
- predictable
- no element of surprise
- perhaps, too romantic
- not a legal form of ID
Getting her a lifetime fishing license for Christmas?
- instant shock and awe
- will never see it coming
- is an official state document
@jtdxn_ I always find it refreshing to see someone who so clearly has never opened a bible except to prooftext try to prooftext their way around people who live within the pages of Scripture. Lord have mercy Scripture must feel like such a chore for you, not the unbridled blessing it is.
@umjeremy I follow Tex Samples advice “make it 11 and the people will say it’s the best sermon they have ever heard” in all seriousness I have found that with inductive preaching brevity allows the sermon to continue to preach throughout the week.
@Eric_Conn My man is over here acting like he has never read the book of Judges, or the genealogy of Jesus, the book of Isaiah, or listened when Jesus spoke. Props to you takes some real moxie to publicly stand up as a pastor and be like “I don’t read Scripture”
@wesleyancov I like how being for Jesus isn’t empowering enough so the GMC decided “instead of getting people to buy in being for something, we will define ourselves by what we are against” and then proceeds to kill every rural church they suckered into dissaffilation.
Rural churches and their leaders should look beyond the length of the membership rolls and the amount of donations collected to gauge their worth, a new study in North Carolina suggests.
