Vice-Chairperson Peter Vedel Kessing raised the alarm after receiving reports that the former premier is being held in prolonged solitary confinement—a practice that, without strict legal safeguards, can amount to psychological torture.

The Committee highlights a troubling pattern of denying basic access to doctors, legal counsel, and family members.

This UN intervention underscores global concern for the rule of law in Pakistan. The Committee will seek detailed information on all political prisoners.

I'm an Imran Khan supporter, but not a typical Pakistani cult follower. I know you will not like this, Imran Khan is very relevant in Pakistan, and irrelevant to the rest of the world. He has virtually no friends in the Middle East, the West/ U.S., not even in China, thanks to his flawed and, at times, suicidal foreign policies as prime minister. Imran Khan has been in jail for nearly three years, and nobody in the world has even tried to ensure he receives basic facilities while imprisoned. Per recent reports, the military has blinded him in jail, yet no world leader has issued even a single statement about it. These fanboy articles may sell among the Pakistani audience, but they find no buyers outside Pakistan.

None of this will help bring Imran Khan back. The people of Pakistan have to do it through street power. There is no other way.
