Paul was one of the toughest people I've ever known. Funny. Strong. The kid who could fall off a roof, get up, say "what the fuck," and somehow make it the cutest thing you ever saw. He carried that same grit into everything else.

Life knocked him into addiction, like it did other people in our family. He didn't stay down. He got sober with the love of his life desireelynnhenry They got saved together and built a real life — three dogs, their first home, a tattoo shop he built from the ground up. Award-winning work.
Most of it spiritual. He was in church. Ten years clean. That wasn't luck.
That was Paul.

Then steroids and mushrooms ripped a hole in a mind that had already fought so hard to stay clear. We had a moment of hope when he squeezed his wife's hand. We thought maybe he'd come back. He didn't.

I can’t believe that people never knew that Goodwill is and always was a “for profit” business at least the local one in our old hometown. If I have to get rid of things that would never sell 2nd hand, I only donate it to Goodwill to deal with selling or discarding. All my good donations always go to local charities and church.
