HUGE #Dore24 update: right before the #RageAgainstWar rally @jimmy_dore told me that he's going to run for President of the United States!

“People are ready and desperate for an honest un-bought candidate that unites the working class and people that span the entire left right political spectrum based on shared values and a common enemy -the Oligarchy,” he said. He wanted to announce it soon after the rally.

I was incredibly proud of him! He was FINALLY answering the call of the thousands of people who have cheered for him to run at every livestream and stand-up show across the country since last summer.

He was recognizing his unique ability to bring left and right together to stop this war, get health care for all, end homelessness, and raise wages. He was putting the people of this country before himself, like a great leader. It was going to be bigger than Bernie 2016! A real revolution!

But then Jimmy's wife Stef Zamorano, who I've known for years and love, told him that she would rather he not run. But Jimmy also said that maybe they could be convinced and he could justify running if he "could think of something positive and concrete that would come out of him running."

That's why @jimmy_dore and @miserablelib need to hear from you! Make a video of yourself or tweet telling them what good it would do for them to run. What difference would it make in your life? Tag them both and use #Dore24.

I knew that Bernie’s first campaign would be huge from the moment he announced. I went to his first rally in a small union hall in Maryland and joined the campaign in 2015. Jimmy's campaign will be even larger.

After Bernie was cheated in 2016, I urged him to run as an independent and blow up the two-party system. He walked right up to the line of being a real revolutionary and then he blinked. Like Cornel West said to Jimmy and me in 2017, "Bernie missed his moment."

But now we don't need Bernie. Because Jimmy Dore has the power to blow up the two-party system. And I will be damned if we miss our moment again. As Jimmy told AOC during #ForceTheVote, the biggest abuse of power is failing to use the power you have.

Jimmy and Stef, you're on the cusp of changing millions of lives for the better. I haven't seen anyone inspire the love and confidence that you do in people since Bernie. People trust you because they know you're genuine. They know you care about them. They can feel it in your sense of outrage at the way people have to live in this country.

Stef, Jimmy needs you with him to do this. I was there at the Force the Vote town when you sat by him, tears in your eyes as you both told the story of when Jimmy's spine collapsed -- as you shared what it's like to be driven to medical bankruptcy in the richest country in the world. You can help spare millions of people from having to go through what you did. Just this Monday you talked on the show about how this country is ready for an independent president and wore the Dore24 necklace that Laura made you.

I believe in you two! And so countless thousands of others!
