People who attended this dinner and purported to have a principled stance for doing so are deluding themselves, and the rest of us see it for what it is: a desire to be adjacent to power.
Such a good day Narrative Power Summit by RadComms & @ThisIsReFrame. Got to hang with some #narrativepower & movement homies @JTPspeaks Shanelle Matthews @zainebmo@sapogonia & talking about resourcing narrative power building. So many good conversations #NPS22
Thanks, @ParisHilton, for standing up for the human rights of youth who are locked up. #AB2417 makes sure young people know their right to be in clean, healthy & safe environments. California should protect & empower youth w/ a #YouthBillofRights. @GavinNewsom, pls sign #AB2417!
that sounds great. Whatever works for everyone! Not a problem. Up for anything. Down for anything. Yes to all of the above! Does anyone have a preference? Either sounds excellent. I'm open to options! I have no needs. I have no wants. I'm a lady
Failure feels like a word we shouldn't say out loud. But writing about it makes it less scary and less shameful.
I wrote about who gets to fail, who talks about it (and who doesn't), and my commitment not to avoid failure, but to defeat the shame spiral: https://t.co/LJp8GyyzHA
We don't talk enough about failure. Why is that? Philanthropy fails all the time, but our default is to shroud it in secrecy.
We are trying something different—attempting to fail in public, with integrity & accountability. Read the 1st post in our series: https://t.co/ry2cQ8tEUw
Who gets to define what meaningful impact is? What does being in "right relationship" really mean? What are the practices and processes you want to change in philanthropy?

.@AmakaAgbo wrote a powerful piece for @npquarterly about what becomes possible when people have the skills and resources to build the communities they want, and no longer have to be satisfied with what others are willing to give them.
Honored to work for this brilliant person.
@traceyecorder I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole of rewatching GH storylines from the 90s on YouTube and sometimes clips from present day come up so I’ve seen some of this Nina nonsense. This show used to be good at meaningful fallout.
“We need new definitions of wealth that include shared prosperity & wellbeing for all of us. BIPOC community-led environmental justice groups are helping us ALL survive climate disaster.” @KatalyFdn @AmakaAgbo #LetsTalkPower
“Calls to action for environmental justice funders 1) Invite peers & funders to resource groups that have already been identified 2) Fund BIPOC public foundations instead of reinventing the wheel. The structures already exist.” @KatalyFdn @AmakaAgbo #LetsTalkPower
Join the Environmental Justice Resourcing Collective on Sept 29 at 12 pm ET for a conversation about movement-led grantmaking that shifts power and supports self-determination, and what environmental justice means to frontline communities: https://t.co/FKyBIk8xNV
@tasneemraja The hiccups were distressing when mine was a newborn because it seemed like they hurt his little body! Hope all is well with you and yours.
This is Khanzada. I met him in Nangarhar province in Afghanistan in 2019.
When his family found Khanzada under the rubble, they were hopeful that his grandparents survived too. An hour later, they found the bodies. #PrecisionStrike
