@copilotshep @Peppdurr I'd argue that in this day and age, you need the degree if only to get your foot in the door with industry professionals. It's all about who you know in that line of business.

@Peppdurr @copilotshep I have my Associates in audio engineering because I love music, but didn't pursue that career path. Instead, I'll help volunteer AV for cons to keep from getting rusty and work a job that's more secure and pays better.

@Peppdurr @copilotshep That said, as for the comparison, it's hard to say for sure being that you have a custom build. The only way to find out is A/B them and see what you like better.

@Peppdurr @copilotshep The 12w7 is a fantastic driver, but it really comes down to how it's tuned. Theres a reason the JL Fathom subs cost so much when at the end of the day, it's just a w7 driver. There's a lot that goes in to signal processing and box tuning that is hard to put a price on.
