The difference between art and AI slop is unifying artistic vision, I said.

That difference evaporates the moment AI becomes controllable by a human with an artistic vision, I said.

Sure, some people are going to virtue signal by saying this is still slop, as if they never read Harry Potter And The Guilty Pleasures of Escapist Fantasy, or listened to that radio hit with the catchy tune and the nonsense lyrics.

But that argument doesn't matter. The gap is crumbling, and soon the only thing required to make music and video and drawings will be not technical skill or expensive equipment, but simply a strong, appealing artistic vision, and the patience to stick to it and see it through.

Most of the future's bad AI art will be the fault of bad human artists, not AI.
