@Malinowski@JewishWonk@ChrisMurphyCT@Malinowski I voted for you and am so sad that you aren’t my congressional representative. Sage, measured and intelligent. The Democrats are so lost with these radical progressives in office. Sad day for our party and our country.
So yeah, let's be bold in fighting corruption and injustice at home and human rights atrocities abroad. But if our boldness is not bound by morality and intelligence, we will become no better than the other side. It's on the leaders to insist on this.
When your followers treat Israel as the world's only human rights violator and AIPAC as the only evil dark money group, that should be a red flag. So should crazy stuff like abolishing police, seizing property, and opposing Ukraine (none of which is an "affordability agenda"). 4/
Nothing wrong with leaders on the left wanting to push the party leftward. But true courage in this moment, on the left & right, is not taking on the establishment (that's easy) -- it's setting limits for your side, and telling your followers what they don't want to hear. 3/
The result is the mirror image of MAGA. It doesn't matter if candidates are qualified or what their beliefs are. All that matters is that they're on the team, backed by its leader. Anyone who questions that is slated for the next political destruction. https://t.co/jxs8ozUNIP 2/
Gotta disagree with my friend @ChrisMurphyCT. Young Dems voted for Avila Chevalier not because they knew her (they didn't), but because leaders like Mamdani and Sanders embraced her. Those leaders could have chosen a serious progressive with non-insane views. They chose this. 1/
💥NEW: James Carville: “I actually do think it's time for Democrats to talk the S word: ‘Schism’ ... there's just some sh*t that I can't be in the same tent with ... I'm done ... I don't want to be in a political party that denies the right of the state of Israel to exist.”
I'd love to see more journalists asking activists why they won't condemn their supporters who scream about Israel while harassing, beating, and murdering American Jews instead of just instinctively dismissing charges of antisemitism as bad faith.
I don’t really have a kind way to say this, but if you think it’s a genocide, it’s because you’re either very vulnerable to propaganda or you hate Jews.
This has been an utterly conventional war with the lowest civilian to combat casualty rate in modern warfare.
The fact that y’all have no smoke for the terrorists using human shields shows it’s actually about hating Jews.
I am honored to be the people’s choice for the Democratic nomination in NY-15.
I am proud to represent the Bronx, which is a microcosm of America itself: a multiracial, multiethnic, multireligious democracy. We are Black and White, Latino and Asian. We are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu. We are One Bronx.
More meaningful than the victory itself was how we achieved it: by securing a supermajority of the vote with a multiracial, multiethnic, multireligious coalition of working families from every corner of the Bronx.
It is the honor of my life to be a fighter from and for the only home I have ever known. Even when I leave the Bronx for Washington, the Bronx never leaves me.
Grateful for the below Facebook post written by @Amy_Siskind:

I am going to share something with you all. Feel free to read it, and consider it, or keep scrolling.
A lot of your Jewish friends, if I'm being honest including me, are petrified right now. A lot of people are messaging me or texting me to thank me for speaking out, but saying they are too scared to do the same. I am 60 year-old. This is the most worried I have been in my lifetime about the mainstreaming of anti-semitism in our country.
The history of the Jewish people is one of persecution, and having the country in which they live, turn on them, subtly at first, and then not-so, before either chasing them out or trying to exterminate them. I'll name a few - the Holocaust, the Inquisition, the Pogroms (how my family got here). That is in part why the existence of Israel as a safe space is important to us, even if we vehemently disagree with their current leadership (I'll get to that).
I know many of you, in being honest, have said you just don't know the history. Many have been humble and asked for books to read to learn. I appreciate you all. I know you are not ill-willed people, but reacting in many cases to what is becoming increasingly blurred and mainstream in the Democratic Party.
I will give you two examples:
If you are traveling abroad to say Europe this summer, should you personally be judged because our country elected Trump? How would you feel if say the French or Swiss or Italian held you to account for being American, and living in a country that elected Trump? And refused to serve you? Or thought you were lesser than for being American?
The other is in reference to what I feel was alarming incident in Brooklyn, where a coffee shop owner did not want to serve a Jewish member of Congress because of his support for Israel. Let's say you are traveling to a Southern state. What if a coffee shop refused to serve you because you say, support gay marriage, and to them gays equate to pedophiles. It's a slippery slope!
I fear we have blended anti-Bibi, with anti-Israel, and now anti-semitism. Not everyone in Israel likes Bibi, even like here we don't all like Trump. Jewish Americans don't have a say over Bibi's policies, even if we do support Israel's right to exist. Yet increasingly, all these notions are blending and being conflated, and it is truly frightening to many of your Jewish friends.
I am going to turn off comments and ask that you simply sit with this, and let it marinate. Maybe put yourself in our shoes if you felt your own party was turning on you because of your sexual orientation, or beliefs, or religion or skin color. We are a party against hate and for inclusion. We can be more aware and sensitive. We can do better.
Here is the truth. Progressivism was entirely irrelevant until it ditched universal healthcare and went all in on Jew hate.
That’s when it started to win elections - tapping into one of the oldest evils.
And because the Democratic Party refuses to excise it, the cancer will kill our party.
I think the people commenting on Jewish perception of the anti-Israel position are not being honest with themselves that there is rank antisemitism tolerated in liberal circles now, and they're not criticizing Israel fairly, they are actively trying to destroy not only it, but completely eliminate Jewish American participation in politics.
The level of antisemitism on the far Left & the far Right is a Five Alarm Fire that can’t be ignored. 🚨
It’s sick. It must be condemned and rooted out or we are on a very dangerous crash course in America.
I do not want to hear a damn word from right-wing Zionists trying to scaremonger about Islamists if they vote for MAGA.
MAGA wants the same thing for me as the Islamists. The total elimination of my civil rights and healthcare.
Islamists aren't signing trans girls up for rape therapy in male prison, that's your boy, Donald J. Trump.
America is moving in 2 directions. On one side, we have those who won elections blaming George Soros. On the other side, as we saw yesterday, we have those who won elections blaming AIPAC.
Everyone seems to be blaming Jewish people for political gain.
As a Jewish person, I fear I do not have a political home.
Maybe we do need to start a third party.
Embracing actual economics, no identity politics, moderate trans policies based in medicalization, pro-national security.
It's increasingly clear neither party is going to snap out of their insanity. Liberals have no values in common with progressives and traditional Republicans have nothing in common with MAGA.
Here’s a good explanation for why so many Jews I’ve talked to tonight are genuinely afraid … this is the response of a prominent leftist journalist to the fear that a lot of Jews are feeling.
It’s not just that leftists are pushing anti-Semitic tropes .. they’re completely indifferent to the fears of a Jewish community experiencing unprecedented levels of anti-Semitic abuse and violence.
I could not be more worried about the Democratic Party. I know it's most likely these lunatics are our future.
I regret every single criticism I ever gave Hillary or normal Democrats. The Republicans are awful but I can't vote for people that want to kill our country.
