@davidstoeckli also:
• IMHO two-finger scrolling to pan would feel more natural, and a hotkey (like +CMD) to zoom
• giving panning a little momentum (instead of harsh stop) would feel great, help explorability
@davidstoeckli cool tool, great use of Replit, love how clean and lightweight this is 💪 Low-hanging UX fruit:
• Don't let the view location reset upon generating new branches
• Attach louder feedback on "generating branches for X" to bottom of screen

@JetFromTurbine Decade+ in design/product strategy for web and mobile games (several X0m DAU, top grossing), and advised tons of startups on gamification. Happy to chat 🤙
@jhendersonYT Friggin love Tchiakovsky. Children of Time is in my top 5 scifi. Expert System was fascinating. Is he slowly and innocuously stacking these into a joint universe?
Fixation on a physical self (and control over its surroundings) is largely rooted in problems that won’t be relevant to an AGI (needing to find local resources, feed/hoard, procreate, protect these bodies from elements or predators)…
If we’re imagining an AGI that has an independent goal it’s pursuing, whether or not it needs a body at all depends very much on the nature of the goal…
But in many cases, I think persuading humans to align with it in achieving that goal might be its most efficient course of action. (Especially if we’re getting close to BCIs by then, and depending on the rules governing its honesty and persuasion methods)
The improvement from +teachers/students isn’t linear. There’s a massive difference between giving each of 15 students fractionally more attention VS having a competent adult singularly focused on catering to the questions, aspirations, and learning styles of one student. There’s some gradient bc a smaller classroom means a bit more 1:1 time, but it’s still meaningfully fragmented, and depends on the teacher’s methods.
Attention.
In a future world where humans with well-aligned AI can accomplish virtually anything, the limiting factor will still be waking hours in a day, and how you choose to use them… escaping, learning, building, competing. Struggling with the question “if I can theoretically do anything, what should I do next?”
Which cultural games will you play? Why? And how will you play them?
@generativehuman @SuperbearAI The point: Rather than spending energy arguing with naysayers, quietly collect their concerns. Publicize any legit ones, along with your plans to address them. And let us (the mob) sort out which of your naysayers to bury/ignore
@generativehuman @SuperbearAI “Haters” are people irrationally dragging you down. But throwing all critique into that bucket risks missing good/crucial input, and justifiably scares even rational, good-faith people who are following this (like me ️)
@generativehuman @SuperbearAI Do you have a running list of legit concerns/problems that people have raised, are worth addressing, and are on your roadmap?
@Wix Hey Wix, I'm getting billed for a website I don't control and don't have access to, and can't find any way to contact you guys. Stripe gave me a phone number to call you, but it's "no longer in service". Help?
@DriveKyte @derUmsetzer Got dead-ended in site chat – and mixed messages about multiple channels is a bit confusing 🤔 Is 2-10 hour response time via email actually my best path to a workaround for a top of funnel, core use case bug?
@DriveKyte glad to see you guys thriving! I had a buttery early experience in SF a few years ago, then chatted product with @derUmsetzer at HQ 👋 – automating delivery/pickup is brilliant!
Anyway, I'm back :) Trying to pickup SFO, drop LAX. UI just grays out, no hints. Help?🙏
