The recent situation has really been a lesson, at least for myself. We’re used to saying, “idols saved me,” but then I read someone said that it’s not kpop that saved you, but the only one who can save you is yourself. I agree.
Sure, their songs have washed away your wounds, their lyrics and their words encouraged you to keep living, maybe they are also the reason for you to keep going. But one thing we often forget is that we can’t be saved unless we (want) to be.
Idols aren’t your personal psychologists, or psychiatrists, they are just human like us, and their music is one of the boxes where there's your happiness in it, and if that box 'disappears', you still have other boxes of happiness.
In the end, your life is about yourself, the one who creates happiness is you yourself, the one who saves you is yourself, the one who loves you the most is yourself. And a hobby should make you happy, not make you forget that you’re human, not make you forget yourself.
