Not all K-pop groups release single albums. Usually kpop groups release minis (EP) or full albums instead. And when they do release single albums, they’re usually treated as smaller projects by sub-units, or as special releases.

What’s a single album?
In K-pop, a single album typically includes about 1–3 tracks and the total runtime is usually under 10 minutes.(Instrumental tracks or alternate version, does not count as extra songs). If the track count and runtime goes beyond that, it’ll now be categorized as an EP (mini album) instead.

Because single albums are smaller in format, they historically sell much less than minis or full albums. That’s why PLAVE achieving such high sales with this single album is really impressive. Breaking records and achieving career high in a category where groups don���t usually earn massive sales.
