Such a good character moment, and something I struggled with when it came to Aegon as an antagonist was a lack of motive. He didn’t even care from the crown at first and then one carriage ride and coronation later he relishes in it.
But after RR, he’s left scarred, burned, (thinks he’s dragonless), and betrayed. Betrayed and not wanted by BOTH sides (to a degree). He’s pissed. He wants everyone to know that he’s not some simpleton to be walked over or used. And this scene sold that for me…once again in a position where he’s forced to do something he doesn’t want to do.
After four years of waiting…The Battle of the Gullet has been shown in House of the Dragon. I hope you all “enjoyed” the episode and for you non-book readers out there…have fun with what’s to come! 💔
The wait for 'The Winds of Winter' has officially surpassed the time it took George R.R. Martin to release the first 5 ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ books 📚
