The game was okay at best aside from the obvious frame dips in crowded areas and the low fps. Could it have been better? Absolutely!

Is it the worst thing ever created? Far from it.

Comparing it to ET and Superman64 is just absolute nonsense.

Looking back in hindsight and looking at it objectively, HG/SS are good games but not THE best games in the series. There were a lot of things they could have fix from the original GSC games but still kept them and slapped a new coat of paint. Johto has always been an odd region.

I also think they should've revised the teams of many of the Johto gym leaders and incorporate more Johto pokemon on their team. You'd think the Falkner would use a HootHoot and Noctowl only for him to use Pidgey and Pidgeotto. Many other leaders are like this unfortunately.

I think of the biggest fumbles of HGSS is not making most Johto pokemon good stat wise. Most early-mid Johto mons have pretty bad stat distribution with only a handful being good (only to be accessible late game). Buff them and make them more valuable to use on a playthrough.
