I’ve never done this, but this situation needs to be addressed. I put a lot of my work into the free @OpenNSFWSP pack so people could use good Foley without paying. The only thing we asked for was credit. @/Alaitz_VA has been using those sounds (a lot of them mine) and on other people’s posts she keeps getting credited as the SFX artist. Not the pack, not even as an editor. Her. On purpose. So it looks like she’s the one who made the sounds We’re not even that hard on this. Animators usually get a pass if they miss a tag when they’re doing the sound themselves. It happens Audio editors, VAs and sound people in general are held to a different standard. You know how credit works. Don’t want a huge credits block on the post? Fine. Most people put it in the first comment. You don’t even need to tag me or any other Foley artist. The pack alone is enough She’s not doing that. She’s avoiding the tag so the credit stays on her. She hasn’t been the only one, but she’s been by far the worst I talked to her privately the first time. She apologized, said it wasn’t on purpose, and said she’d tag it right from then on What actually changed: she started crediting it on her own promo posts. That was it. She never told the artists who commission her “hey, tag the sound pack.” So their posts kept going out as “SFX: Alaitz.” When I brought it up again, she dodged it. Said she wasn’t the one posting, that already tags it on her own posts. Said it wasn’t that deep and that if you tagged everything the credits would be endless. “Quit bothering me with that” Then she blocked me. Crediting your own promo and letting every commissioned post treat pack Foley as your SFX is not crediting. That’s the loophole. The pack author told her to stop using it if she wasn’t going to credit it properly. She insulted him, said she wouldn’t use the pack anymore, and blocked him too She kept using it I’m not posting this to start a hunt. Private messages didn’t fix it, and I’m tired of watching my sounds go out with someone else’s name on them If you use the pack, credit the pack. If you commission her and she tells you to write “SFX: Alaitz,” she’s lying. She probably hasn’t recorded a single sound effect in her life. Anyone who has would know how hard it is to get right, and why it matters when someone else takes the credit.
