@adamtotscomix we interpret the boyfriend's ghost as tangible but able to disappear, maybe he really did appear to the son, drove him home, then stuck around the house to burn it down.
All the ways to interpret this have a hint at supernatural, but both lead back to queer grief and rage.
@adamtotscomix to not return to his house, and part of why the son cried at the end. Because why would the boyfriend be buried with a match behind his ear? Why would the son hallucinate the boyfriend picking him up on a motorcycle before knowing he was dead? How would he get a motorcycle? If--
