Except even “fringe metaphysical beliefs” can become the mainstream, and Christianity is the perfect example. At its inception it was considered “fringe”, but is now one of the premier religions of the world.

The debate is laughable at best, and the fact that people are willing to “die on this hill” is mildly concerning.

Everyone seems to have these ideas of “what makes a woman”.

Some women may have a mutation in the SRY gene, and be given an XXY, and may appear for all intents and purposes to be female, but most people will tell you “if you have a Y chromosome you’re a man”.
But are they.

Biologically a woman is an XX chromosome, at the simplest level.
But then others would specify “only XX”. Heaven forbid a women has a genetic abnormality that gives them a XXY.

This week it’s “having a, or having had a, uterus”.
Last week it was “the ability to get pregnant”.
What makes a man? The ability to knock someone up? Because not everyone can do that either.

Last week it was “giving birth” even though there are women who can’t get pregnant.
They keep changing the goal post, it’s hilarious.
