@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@IHaveOTDSD@salltweets@ChrisCuomo Except I’m not trying to force anything. I know that trying to change people’s opinions only reenforces them. I’m laughing that people are so convinced there is a clearly defined line and are adamant that they will never budge from their line.
Believe it or don’t, that’s on you.
@AshaGreyjoy__@Mullerian_Duck@IHaveOTDSD@salltweets@ChrisCuomo This is actually a very valid look at the debate. Except even “fringe metaphysical beliefs” can become the mainstream, and Christianity is the perfect example. At its inception it was considered “fringe”, but is now one of the premier religions of the world.
@Mullerian_Duck@IHaveOTDSD@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo Interesting take on it, because I thought I had just said exactly what I think.
In laymen’s terms, both sides are laughable idiots for thinking the “tired debate” will ever end because there is no way to clearly define a line.
@Mullerian_Duck@IHaveOTDSD@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo 2/2 preconceived notion that there is a 100% drawn line. Each side is always going to have their own interpretation, and in the end, both sides are wrong.
The debate is laughable at best, and the fact that people are willing to “die on this hill” is mildly concerning.
@Mullerian_Duck@IHaveOTDSD@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo No, see I’m willing to hear from those people. Provided they are actually willing to have an actual conversation, not just an attempt at an insult, or an insinuation I am uneducated. I treat people as they do me.
You and I for example, have been having a legitimate discussion.
@IHaveOTDSD@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo No, you see I decided to play off your own words on your profile in an attempt to have a laugh at your expense.
Troll you, if you will.
Based on your reply, it worked.
Apparently I can read.
@AshaGreyjoy__@Mullerian_Duck@salltweets@ChrisCuomo Have I mentioned politics at all in my questioning? Let me review, hmmm, nope.
Every question I have posed has been to clarify the line between a male and a female, because as I said, that goalpost seems to change every week.
@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo Male gamete meets female gamete during reproduction, and develops into a zygote. So what about a person who is unable to reproduce. A women without ovaries will not produce the female gamete.
@Busanitian@chriswtremo@ChrisCuomo Im sorry i misspoke. It was “women are the only ones who can get pregnant”.
And that’s right up there with JK Rowlings “people who menstruate” crap.
Everyone seems to have these ideas of “what makes a woman”.
Im only trying to figure out where exactly these people draw the line.
@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo So the question is, which is male and which is female.
Some women may have a mutation in the SRY gene, and be given an XXY, and may appear for all intents and purposes to be female, but most people will tell you “if you have a Y chromosome you’re a man”.
But are they.
@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo I never said YOU personally changed a goal post now did I?
Biologically a woman is an XX chromosome, at the simplest level.
But then others would specify “only XX”. Heaven forbid a women has a genetic abnormality that gives them a XXY.
@Mullerian_Duck@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo Hey listen, I’m not the one over here changing the goalpost for what defines a woman week to week.
This week it’s a uterus, last week it was getting pregnant, what’s next week, having lacticing breasts? 🤣
@tweetannylee@salltweets@ChrisCuomo If the goalpost (this week anyway) is having a uterus makes you a woman, then by not having a uterus makes you what exactly?
MRKH syndrome means some women are born without a uterus. Are they not women?
@Neutralnan9842 @AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo So chromosomes I can gladly agree with.
Gametes, not every male or female is able to reproduce. Skeletal differences, yes I can give that one, and developmental differences such as…?
@hothingsgirlsay@salltweets@ChrisCuomo You see, your answer is one I can respect. You cut out all the “women have uterus’s”, and “women can get pregnant” BS that people have been spouting and you get right straight down to the most basic of building blocks.
👏
@AshaGreyjoy__@salltweets@ChrisCuomo So what makes a man a man, and a woman a woman. Folks can’t seem to define a woman.
This week it’s “having a, or having had a, uterus”.
Last week it was “the ability to get pregnant”.
What makes a man? The ability to knock someone up? Because not everyone can do that either.
@Busanitian@chriswtremo@ChrisCuomo Im sorry, but everyone seems to be suggesting that “having a uterus” or “having had a uterus” is what makes someone a woman.
Last week it was “giving birth” even though there are women who can’t get pregnant.
They keep changing the goal post, it’s hilarious.
