I had an opportunity to work alongside Rita at KTN news and honestly she was everything I wanted to be as a journalist. Her prowess in scripting and her eloquency in voicing was ๐. Rita was a veteran and we will surely miss her on TV. Go well Rita, your memory lives on ๐๐๐
What a sad day for the media fraternity. Rita Tinina was one of the best storytellers we had in our newsrooms today. She was a seasoned journalist and naturally a very calm and collected person. My heart goes out to her family and friends. We have lost a good one. Rip Rita ๐ญ

The Ministry of Health (@MOH_Kenya) organized a media sensitization event, focusing on finding a working relationship with media partners to highlight the crucial role of breastfeeding in promoting child survival, health, and overall well-being.
Themed "Enabling breastfeeding: Making a difference for working parents," the session shed light on the immense benefits of breastfeeding for both the child and the mother.
Veronica Kirogo, Director of Nutrition and Dietetics Services at the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, delivered the opening remarks, expressing the government's commitment to collaborating with media professionals in their efforts to support working parents and raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding.
This initiative aims to foster a strong and constructive partnership with the media, ensuring that accurate and impactful information reaches the public about the life-giving power of breastfeeding.
Breastmilk is a nutritional powerhouse for infants, providing all the essential nutrients they need in the first 6 months of life. It acts as a powerful immunization against life-threatening diseases, preventing 54% of diarrhea and 32% of respiratory infection episodes. Moreover, breastfeeding can reduce infection-related mortality by 88% among infants less than 3 months old.
STOP THE ATTACKS: March 2023 remains the darkest month for Kenyan media since the clamour for multiparty democracy. We have so far documented 25 cases of attacks on local and foreign journalists at the hands of State and non-State actors since the onset of the demonstrations.1/5
