My kids are bilingual; I am not.

For the last two years, we lived in Spain. My daughter quickly picked up the local accent to the point that she was sometimes mistaken for Spanish by locals. She also began to partially self-identify as Spanish in an astonishingly short period of time (neither my wife nor I are of Spanish descent).

That experience led me to read The Bilingual Brain, largely to understand how early language exposure shapes social perception in children.

The research on this page stood out.

@BJanosch Except the GOP has already eliminated the filibuster on issues that matter to them. Judges require simple majority, and anything dealing with tax cuts can be passed on reconciliation. They already have a different set of rules. Dems are only ones still handicapping themselves.
