Some of the responses/quote tweets to this post are downright laughably insane. So I'm gonna respond to the sewer people and leave it alone.

Nobody, and I mean nobody is making the argument "pretty girl = porn" or that "pretty girls don't exist" You made that up in your head and got angry about it.

But DEMANDING that EVERY girl in EVERY video game be a shining image of stereotypical beauty is an issue, primarily perpetuated by freakish online gooners. People do NOT make this argument about male characters, nobody cares if a main male character isn't a ripped gorgeous dude, people never care if it's just a... guy. But it continuously is a problem for certain people when a female character is just an average person.

A female character being average, or shit, even ugly, can be JUST as a valid artistic decision as a gorgeous sexy bombshell one. Same goes for male characters.

Video games can TOTALLY have typical "sexy" characters, that's not an issue, I love NieR: Automata!! It's a fun artistic choice that landed really well!

Average looking characters can lend to better comedy, better mundane/parody style visuals, and give off the vibe that this fantasy world isn't like the stereotypical one.

But demanding like a child that EVERY WOMAN IN EVERY GAME NEEDS TO BE HOT

I don't care if you watch porn, everyone does, for god sake I follow like 50 hentai accounts on main, who the fuck do you think you're replying to?!

But clearly porn has rotted some people's brains, because if you genuinely get HEATED over a normal looking female character in a game, you are cooked bro, like actually terminally online.

If a studio wants their characters to be bombshells or pretty, that's valid.

If they want them to be average joes, or even ugly, that's valid.

How is that hard to understand? Like genuinely, how does that not make sense for some people?
