Congrats to @CGKings317 @elizabethsibert @ZKillingback and @ProfAtchison for the Outstanding Paper Award from @nagtgeo for: Nothing about us without us: The perspectives of autistic geoscientists on inclusive instructional practices in geoscience education". Well deserved!
Awesome blog post!
My quirky thing that gets me strange looks in the field is the fact I hear certain dusty rock textures as high pitched noises and touching them feels like being electrocuted! #ActuallyAutistic#fieldwork
📢New blog about making fieldwork more accessible by Anya Lawrence @geology_bham!

As someone that thought they love science BECAUSE of its objectivity, this article featuring @palaeobak has given me a lot to think about. #DiversityinSTEM https://t.co/z6aheUmIlz
As the autistic geoscientist being discussed here, I'm super happy with how @NatGeo highlighted access issues neurodiverse students face without sensationalising disability. Oh, and the geology is awesome, but I'm bias!

Sharing a bit about about the scientist as well as the very cool science in this article normalizes the author’s autism without making it a spectacle. This is the #scicom model we should follow so we can learn about the scientists behind the science. Good job @NatGeo!
FINALLY get Twitter and stupidly decide to search my own name, only to be taken by surprise to find a huge picture of my much younger self! It's been a crazy 8 years!
