@6footmbe@RobCross247@crazyhouseprice This is the civil service GAA pitch in Islandbridge. By public transport its about 25 minutes from The Liberties. The pitch needs to be in walking distance to have an impact.
@RobCross247 2 basketball courts owned by Dublin City Council were demolished by DCC contractors yesterday - reducing the number of sports facilities in Dublin 8
@RobCross247 Thank you for supporting this campaign Rob. I have an online petition that it would be great if you could sign and share https://t.co/uQuszOJedi
@seanpodriscoll @RobCross247 Also issue of no online booking system for the pitches. That is why I am running for election in June 224 - to get this sorted out.
@seanpodriscoll @RobCross247 Issue is a bus service there - now at least we have the new 99 service into Phoenix park . I have walked there before with a young football club from Thomas st, and it’s up a dual carriageway like road- very dangerous
Dublin 8 has a population of over 50,000, which is the same as Carlow. This population includes 6,114 children and is served by 10 schools. However, there is currently no playing pitch available. One potential solution could be to replicate the example of Belvedere College, which converted its unused roof spaces into a playing pitch and athletics track.
