The Conquerers were far too lenient with the former Kings of Westeros. They should've been stripped of power while the Riverlands and Stormlands put under direct Targaryen control. Also the Ironborn should have been wiped out completely.
@KilIuaFreecss Faith Militant and the Sons are very similar. The last desperate grasps of power from two groups on the edge of extinction that are unwilling to change.
All this Rhaegar discourse proves is that a lot people in the fandom don't want that. They want cookie cutter black and white characters who are either morally pure or monsters.
He's just a regular person whose position magnifies his mistakes. I think it's pretty clear that GRRM thinks he's a good man who would've made a good King. The core of this series is good men can fuck up and monsters can do a good deed.
sorry i just refuse to believe a character that haunts both jon and dany’s narratives, and is so thematically important to both of them, is a bad person.
They won't, two of those great houses will have marriage and decide the child should be King. They'll make a marriage pack with another house and Westeros will descend into chaos again. Oh and they'll still claim Targaryen blood to cement the claim.
hey so genuine question how were they gonna pick a new ruler after bran in the show because he’s unable to have heirs and they made a point of like them just choosing whoever suits best but like genuinely how were they gonna do that after brans death 😭 what

#HouseOfTheDragon boss Ryan Condal says Season 3’s Battle of the Gullet is “arguably the craziest episode of TV ever made”:
“To try to tell this story without doing the Gullet would be trying to film ‘Lord of the Rings’ without doing the Battle of Helm’s Deep. If we were gonna do it, we had to do it right. And that meant dragons and ships and multiple theaters of conflict.” (via Entertainment Weekly)
