🦒Tomorrow is World Giraffe Day at Zoo Boise!🦒
Join us on Sunday, June 21 from 10AM to 2PM for a fun-filled day celebrating giraffes, activities, and meeting our resident giraffes, Jabari and Tafari.
Sponsored by Goldenwest Credit Union and St. Luke's Health Plan.
To prepare for World Giraffe Day on Sunday, June 21, we took a trip around the zoo and downtown Boise to see the world from a giraffe’s viewpoint: 18 feet tall!
World Giraffe Day is sponsored by Goldenwest Credit Union and St. Luke's Health Plan.
It’s a boy! Animal care staff recently confirmed that the meerkat pup born late last year is male. He joins his triplet siblings and parents in their sprawling Small Animal Kingdom home.
Plans yet for Father's Day?
You can celebrate dad and treat him to a buffet breakfast and day at the zoo with Dads, Dogs, and Donuts on Sun, June 21 at 8AM! You will also see our African wild dogs receive a special enrichment.

Meet Jay! Zoo Boise's newest resident is a six-year-old male Linné’s two-toed sloth. He now lives in the Small Animal Kingdom rainforest with porcupine Ozzy.
He’s still settling into his new home and chooses where and how he wants to spend time. But hint, look up to find Jay!
The results are in: Meet Opal and Onyx! You officially named our African Cape porcupine sisters.
Inspired by the Gem State of Idaho (and a Taylor Swift song?), Opal and Onyx earned an impressive 51% of votes.
As nocturnal mammals, they're currently adjusting to their new home.
Cape porcupine naming vote ends at midnight. Can anyone catch Opal & Onyx as top choice? This pair of names is starting to run away with the poll while Zuri & Zola try to close the gap.
If you want to tip this election, there's time to vote for your fav: https://t.co/JBxjhtyyj6

Heavy is the crown? 👑 The namesake "crown" of the grey crowned crane is actually a halo of stiff golden feathers that help these tall [and regal!] birds blend into tall grasses.
