Another day without hockey so I looked at #tusksup prospects and the Tucson roster for next year. Big takeaway is that it is about to get a lot younger with 4-6 rookies at F, 2 at D and 1 at G. Average age last year was about 26, this year will be about 23 when roster is set.

The Edwin Arroyo file: The 22-year old shortstop was promoted by the #Reds earlier this afternoon, taking the spot of Elly De La Cruz, who landed on the 10-day IL with a strained right hamstring.

The switch-hitter was originally a 2nd round pick of the Mariners in 2021. He came to the Reds in the July 30, 2022 trade with Seattle. The Reds sent Luis Castillo to the Mariners in exchange for Edwin Arroyo, Noelvi Marte, Andrew Moore and Levi Stoudt.

This season, Arroyo has appeared in 53 games his first season @LouisvilleBats. He's hitting .323 with a .383 on base and .945 OPS. 11 HR, 34 RBI and 9 SB.

.348 with a 1.029 OPS vs RHP
.245 with a .688 OPS vs LHP

He’s made 31 starts at SS, 18 at 2B and 4 at 3B.

He was the Bats Player of the Month for May:
.356 BA, .393 OBP, 1.086 OPS 36 H, 8 HR, 17 RBI.
