A high-level intelligence-driven operation has dealt a major blow to a cross-border vehicle theft syndicate linked to 22 cases across Limpopo, Gauteng, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

Five Mozambican nationals were arrested in Polokwane, while two stolen vehicles -a Toyota Corolla and Toyota Tazz were recovered during raids in Ladanna and Greenside.

The suspects, aged 26 to 42, are due to appear in the Seshego and Polokwane Magistrates’ Courts on charges including vehicle theft, possession of suspected stolen goods and immigration offences.
