This song epitomizes the commitment Abbot brought to his contributions. It took a number of takes before he was satisfied with it. He said the song was for Chuck, and it had to be perfect and he would know when it was perfect. And in the end, it was. https://t.co/t0WBo79qR5

This is probably one of the saddest updates to our fans I can ever imagine writing. In early 2014. when the first CD was being recorded, and we embarked on the first few of what ended up being probably 600 shows as a band, Dana the original drummer recommended his friend Abbot...

[The Zuzu Welsh Band @ZuzuWelsh]

About three weeks ago now, the western North Carolina music community lost a huge supporter when Kurt Loveland passed away. Kurt was supportive of live music of so MANY different genres that to even try to define him in that context is impossible. We will all miss him. That lea...

Well I have been asked to guest guitar on a recording for one of my friends and peers. I'll be letting folks know about it once it is done and released, in conjunction with the artist. Also still got all these unrecorded originals that were written in the months leading up to ...

It has been quite some time since the last communication. Life has been moving along, I am writing songs, although performing and recording are still pretty much in limbo. The past year has seen the passing of my brother and the relocation of my parents into assisted living, s...

It has been more than two years since the band appeared on stage. While this is not the band, I will be playing at The White Horse in Black Mountain as part of a memorial show honoring Jimmy Landry who passed away a couple weeks ago now. Jimmy was a fixture in the area music s...

Caleb Johnson is one tremendously talented vocalist. Many would only remember him from American Idol a few years ago, but I remember him as part of Asheville power rock band Elijah Hooker, before he was on American Idol.

I absolutely think he is worth listening to, supportin...

Today again I am going to step out and promote a friend on the road.  I have known Caleb since 2012 when I met him at a charity event for a mental health organization. His band Elijah Hooker was playing the event and I got to chat with him a bit. Kept tabs on his band, checked...

Taking time out to promote not myself but instead a good friend of mine. Kimberly Marie and I have been friends for probably 8 or 9 years now, she has been a fixture in the local and regional music scene for years.

Typically she records original material but she took on this...

Great to see some venues opening up around the USA responsibly allowing some live music to happen. If you are playing out in public in the next few weeks, shoot me a schedule and we will share it on our social media for all to see.  Live independent music is only going to come...

Is the end in sight? No, probably not. BUT is there coming on the horizon an environment where MAYbe we can see live music happening again here in the United States? Probably, if people would just keep doing what is needed for a little while longer as the vaccine is rolled out...

So as it appears that in some parts of the world, Covid is retreating, in other areas it is still going strong or even resurging. Take a moment and let us know how Covid has impacted your music.
For us, our last live show was February 23, 2020 at Bold Rock Hard Cider in little...

FINALLY!
There is a booking. On our horizon. Oh, it's "COVID-tentative" but at least it is dangling out there. Can we play it? I don't even know at this point.
I hope all of my fellow musicians have found ways to channel their energies during the last 11 months without live m...
