NOW WHAT?
Happy Public Schools Week!
As a former teacher, I know that public schools are not just where our kids go to learn - they’re the center of our communities.
That’s why I was proud to make the largest investment in public schools in state history.
“I’ve got transgender people. Ive got gays. I've got lesbians. Ive got drunks. Ive got drug addicts - all within my own family. I know and love them all, and I do not judge.”

“I didn’t even learn the basics of classroom management in my teacher prep program. I couldn’t begin to meet the needs of my students or advocate for myself coming out of my teacher prep course. There is no such fucking thing as being “too woman” to pilot a helicopter, “too gay” to land a plane or “too black” to be an air traffic controller.
There is however, such a thing as being too hateful, too stupid & too sociopathic to be president.
And we call that Donald Trump.
Black history is American history.
Our music, art, sports, literature, leadership, resistance, and resilience are fundamental to the fabric of our nation and the progress that we fight for.
This month and every month, we celebrate Black history, and we continue our fight for justice and equality for every American.

Today we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Someone President Carter deeply admired. On 1/14/79 President and Mrs. Carter took part in a service at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Daddy King, Coretta Scott King, Andy Young, and others. NAID 18300 #Heroes#CivilRights#Leaders
