And as far as cousin marriages are concerned, they are not exclusive to Muslims. Cousin marriages are also traditionally practised among many Hindu communities, particularly in southern states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as Puducherry.

We have filed a writ petition before the Rajasthan High Court challenging the non-allotment of AIMIM’s election symbol for the upcoming local body elections in Rajasthan.

The matter was heard today before the Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice, where detailed arguments were presented. The case has now been listed on 31 August for further hearing.

We remain confident in our legal position and hopeful of a favourable outcome, particularly in light of the legal principles laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in similar matters.

AIMIM Rajasthan will continue to fight firmly for its democratic and constitutional rights and for the emergence of a strong Third Political Alternative in Rajasthan.

These very speeches and their legal interpretation are sub judice, and there is no final judicial finding that Sharjeel advocated secession.
