@B_W3TTER Have to learn to not be a ppl pleaser to gain the benefit/clarity of this approach. Expectation is to move faster, with more aggression, all the time or else you don’t have “it”. Have to be willing to take the “L” in the public perception to not get wrecked by desperation plays
How long would I have stayed at that job had this not happened? I ask myself that and it’s the scariest thing to think about and being freed from that is a huge grace. This was an easier situation but I do think it’s widely applicable to anything we go through
Sometimes the “bad” things that happen in life are just examples of God showing favor and grace toward you. Forcing some type of growth you would not have pursued if left to your own devices.
I recently got laid off of a job I never truly liked but that paid me well and provided a ton of comfort and flexibility. And upon hearing the news, the very first thing I said was “Thank You God.” This is always the appropriate response.
@B_W3TTER Only exception to the last piece is athletes on scholarship. School is free so may as well be around rich kids and stack some prestige while competing in sport.
@YousXPC Somewhat similar is validation from good intentions. Tell people you are starting a biz and they congratulate you on the brave move before you have a single product/client/sale. Makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something before you’ve done anything. Harder to get results
Essentially it’s admitting to yourself you don’t have the influence or ability you need to create the perfect situation out of anything you’re given. Should be able to elevate the culture and health of any relationship, role, environment regardless of how seemingly bad it is
The main reason why “grass is greener” types never win in the long run is that they continuously put off fixing the problem within themselves. Distracting themselves with the next exciting thing.
Job hopping when deep down you know no job is going to bring you fulfillment. Constantly bailing on relationships because the next one will be better while failing to recognize you can cultivate what you’re looking for with what you have.
