But what does a high-performing transfer experience actually look like?

We asked FOLIO's UX Advisor trained on real recorded user sessions across African fintech apps to break down OPay's complete transfer journey, screen by screen.

Here's what the data revealed:

• Transfer success reached in ~35 seconds in the captured OPay-to-OPay session.

• A median active duration of 38 seconds across 12 recorded sessions.

• 8 median screens and 18 median taps from start to finish.

• Only 4 recorded friction events across all observed sessions.

The most interesting insight?

It's not just speed.

The flow builds confidence without creating unnecessary friction:

✓ Recipient selection from recents.

✓ A clear transaction review step.

✓ Payment method confirmation.

✓ A processing state that can be as short as 1 second before success.

Small design decisions like these make a big difference in how users experience a product.

This is the kind of product intelligence that doesn't come from installs, retention charts, or app store reviews.

It comes from watching real users navigate real products.
