OIF ‘06 - Al Anbar wasn’t ready for us. :)
Thinking of all my fellow Marines and Docs today and everyday. Ooh-rah. Drink one for Chesty! https://t.co/1vFvVduJ8G
@RobertoAndres@GeoRebekah I love breweries for this exact reason because most of the time they do this with their restrooms. I'm all for having more options to perform a basic biological function instead of standing around waiting for a single room to open while the other remains vacant. We're all adults
@GeoRebekah Obviously if there's a family option we go for that unless I see another family barreling towards the same spot and they have more kids (like in airports lol). FWIW, I also don't have an opinion around the dad in this story opting for the women's room with his two girls.
@GeoRebekah This seems like a weird thing to be triggered by imo. This isn't as big of a deal as you make it up to be. I, of course, want to protect my daughter at all times, however we always use stalls in men's rooms and have no issues. I've never considered using the women's restroom.
Over twenty-five years in the U.S. Navy, thirty-nine combat missions, and four missions to space, I risked my life for this country and to defend our Constitution – including the First Amendment rights of every American to speak out. I never expected that the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense would attack me for doing exactly that.
My rank and retirement are things that I earned through my service and sacrifice for this country. I got shot at. I missed holidays and birthdays. I commanded a space shuttle mission while my wife Gabby recovered from a gunshot wound to the head– all while proudly wearing the American flag on my shoulder. Generations of servicemembers have made these same patriotic sacrifices for this country, earning the respect, appreciation, and rank they deserve.
Pete Hegseth wants to send the message to every single retired servicemember that if they say something he or Donald Trump doesn’t like, they will come after them the same way. It’s outrageous and it is wrong. There is nothing more un-American than that.
If Pete Hegseth, the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in our country’s history, thinks he can intimidate me with a censure or threats to demote me or prosecute me, he still doesn’t get it. I will fight this with everything I’ve got — not for myself, but to send a message back that Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump don’t get to decide what Americans in this country get to say about their government.
The President of the United States just overthrew a foreign ruler and explained to the American people that this is about taking control of the oil reserves of a foreign nation. He said that the U.S. will “run the country” until a proper transition can take place and went right into how US oil companies will benefit from this takeover. He doesn’t understand the risks and costs involved with these poorly thought-out decisions that don’t make Americans any safer today than they were yesterday.
Nicolas Maduro is a brutal, illegitimate dictator who deserves to face justice. I want the people of Venezuela to be free to choose their own future, but if we learned anything from the Iraq war, it’s that dropping bombs or toppling a leader doesn’t guarantee democracy, stability or make Americans safer. More often, it leads to chaos or drags the US into a war and lengthy occupation. I don’t trust that this administration has a plan, timeline, or price tag for what comes next.
Over the past year, Trump’s foreign policy has been reckless, chaotic, self-serving, and unconstitutional. Congress should vote this week to reassert its authority on behalf of the American people before he oversteps again. I also want to recognize the professionalism and skill of the American service members involved in this operation. While I don’t agree with the administration’s justification for this, I’m thankful that no service members were killed or seriously injured.
Last week I hosted family for Thanksgiving.
My 12-year-old nephew asked for the WiFi password.
He wanted to play Roblox on his iPad.
I looked at the device.
Unmanaged. No antivirus. No encryption.
I’m an IT Professional. I don't run an open network.
So I didn’t give him the password.
Instead, I spent 45 minutes provisioning a Guest VLAN.
I set up a captive portal.
I throttled the bandwidth down to 56kbps.
Then I blocked all traffic on ports 80 and 443.
He came back crying. He said it wouldn't load.
My sister screamed at me to "just let him play."
I told her that Zero Trust architecture doesn't care about bloodlines.
We didn't have a "fun" Thanksgiving.
But we had a secure perimeter.
You’re welcome for the compliance.
@tlark8 Dude, you would show this up so bad in the green egg, it's literally no contest. This looks sad, kind of like that scene in ET where they discover him just sort of laying in the river lmao
