(!) Trump announces that he ordered the bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites and the operation was completed — an act of war aimed at eliminating Iran’s nuclear program that draws the U.S. deeper into the Middle East and risks the lives of U.S. personnel in the region.
Please don't forget refugees. The USA and other donors must reverse long term aid cuts to refugees. Existing donors must increase funding for refugees in Thailand, Bangladesh and IDPs. Thailand must grant refugees legal work authorisation. Thailand must lift restrictions on cross-border aid delivery to areas not controlled by the Burmese military, for example, in territories administered by the Karen National Union and Karenni Interim Executive Committee.
Refugees deserve dignity and love.
On World Refugee Day, ကမ္ဘာ့ဒုက္ခသည်များနေ့မှာ, sending my love to all refugees who have been forced to flee from their homes because of many reasons including human rights violations, sexual crimes, persecution and unfair treatment. I myself am a refugee, forced to flee from my homeland twice because of attacks by the Burmese Army. Today, I would like to pay tribute to those refugees who stand up and fight for their rights, and those who help us in our struggle. There are millions of people around the world who are refugees and longing to go home. Before we are able to go home safely, we need peace in our homeland. The first step is for the Burmese military to completely stop their attacks, and withdraw all their army in our homeland. Then all landmines have to be cleared, so that refugees can go home safely.

Tribute to Amay Suu (Mother Suu), Burma’s State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, on Her 80th Birthday
By Dr. Sasa
Thank you for the honor of joining you here in London. If we were to commemorate Amay Suu, Mother Suu’s, birthday in Burma, we would be arrested by the brutal military junta, perhaps even executed. But here, in this land of liberty and freedom, we are able to honor her life, her leadership, and her legacy. And so, it is with both joy and deep sorrow that we mark the 80th birthday of our beloved Mother Suu, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
This is not a celebration in her presence, but in her absence. For the fourth consecutive year, we honor her birthday while she remains unjustly imprisoned by the brutal military junta, the SAC. These four years have been filled with unimaginable pain, grief, and injustice. We have received troubling reports that she was injured during recent earthquakes in Burma, and we are anguished to know that she is being denied even the most basic health care and human rights.
As the United Kingdom and the international community have stood firmly with the people of Ukraine, I pray that the time has now come to stand with the brave people of Burma. The time has come to demand the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint, and the more than 22,000 political prisoners who remain unlawfully detained under the military’s reign of terror.
Let the world hear this clearly: although the military junta has taken away Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s physical freedom, they will never extinguish her love for Burma nor the people’s love for her. They may try to silence her voice, but they cannot silence the nearly 60 million people she has inspired. We are her sons and daughters, we are the children of Burma shaped by her courage, guided by her vision, and united by our shared determination to end this brutal military regime once and for all, and to build a new Burma founded on federal democratic values and principles that can never be compromised.
Even behind prison walls, Mother Suu remains a beacon of resilience. Her courage is unbroken. Her spirit is undiminished. Her love for the people burns brighter than ever before. She taught us to hope when hope seemed lost. She led not only through her words but through her life with dignity, with sacrifice, and with unyielding conviction in a future where every person, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background, can live in freedom, dignity, and peace.
That is the new Burma, the federal democratic Burma for which she has suffered, sacrifice, and to which she has devoted her life. And that is the Burma we are now called to build.
The greatest gift we can offer Daw Aung San Suu Kyi today is not words or ceremonies, but decisive action. Let us renew our collective commitment to secure the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint and all political prisoners, and to bring an end once and for all to military dictatorship in Burma, and to build a new Burma founded on federal democratic values and principles.
Let us build a new nation founded on justice, unity, peace, equality, and prosperity for all.
To the international community: please, do not honor her legacy with words alone. Honor it with action. Apply meaningful and coordinated pressure on the military junta through what we call the three cuts:
• Cut off weapons and jet fuel.
• Cut off all legitimacy and reject the junta’s plan for a sham election by the end of this year,2025.
• Cut off access to international finance and banking systems.
Support the people of Burma in their struggle. This is not only a call for justice—it is a call for humanity.
Today, as we mark Mother Suu’s 80th birthday, we do so with sorrow, but also with profound pride. We honor her sacrifice, her strength, and her unwavering love. And we make her this solemn promise: we will not stop.
We will not give up.
We will not rest until all forms of dictatorship are defeated and a free, federal democratic Burma is realized.
A Burma where all armed forces are under civilian supremacy.
A Burma where transitional justice is delivered.
A Burma where our social economy once again becomes the breadbasket of Asia.
A Burma where federal democratic governance is built from the smallest village to the largest city, from local governance to a strong and united federal union.
A Burma that becomes a stabilizing force in Asia, strategically located at the crossroads of India and China, South and Southeast Asia advancing peace, security, and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific, Indian Ocean and the wider world.
Happy 80th Birthday, Amay Suu—Mother Suu.
May you be safe.
May you be strong.
May you live to see the dawn of the new Burma, the federal democratic nation you gave your life to build.
Thank you.
