I'm pinning this tweet so that people understand the distinction between me and someone else with three fewer letters at the end of their name whose beliefs about people and the world differ wildly from mine. My goal is not to matter on here and to explore freely.
@godsven3loquist When it happened I noted some of the demographics of the voters and their motivations and then saw similarities between them and people in the U.S. who ended up voting for Trump 1.0. There were other things, especially in international science that made me view it as a mistake.
@godsven3loquist Why isn't there a precedent with Brexit? I mean we are saying hold my beer here in an incredible way, but I took 538 really seriously in 2016 because of what Britain did earlier in the year. I'm not judging just trying to understand what you're saying.
@godsven3loquist I'm shocked by the results. 50-100 for me, and I'm being conservative. They weigh nothing in your stomach, and have an unchallenging crunchy texture.
@Evolutionistrue Wouldn't this definition mean that a Dodo could be "resurrected" if a Nicobar pigeon was edited a few times to have some Dodo-like mutations. This has been disappointing. It would be nice if the public were more aware of enhancers rather than more confused about genetic editing.
@godsven3loquist There's also the problem of convincing violent non-cultural relativists to become peaceful cultural relativists. There's like no ideological incentive structure for someone to entice someone like that with.
@godsven3loquist It was pretty funny for me because I made it for a friend at her request and spent the time leading up to her tasting it thinking I had screwed up. But she informed me I hadn't. Though, in general I've been more paranoid about all the new stuff I'm trying out.
@godsven3loquist In case?! I guess I need to work harder to earn the proper reputation. Can you send me the document?
I also have some questions about the recipe logic. I made a version recently and realized I've never tasted the real deal since it tasted different from what I expected.
@godsven3loquist@fraulebkuchen I don't know @fraulebkuchen personally, but I wish for her success. I know from the women in my life how exceptionally gratifying it is to see their success in spite of uncertainty borne out of a life of encounters with undue skepticism. It's a vicarious form of glory.
@godsven3loquist@fraulebkuchen I agree, I probably should have worded things differently. I didn't know if it was the case for @fraulebkuchen that people had given her the opposite of your advice. I think there's still a lot of people trying to sabotage the success of bright women.
@godsven3loquist@fraulebkuchen I don't want to generalize, but many of the most incredible women I've met could use this advice especially because other people have told them the opposite. Any time I encounter such a circumstance I feel like the universe is out of balance.
@godsven3loquist Pity is appropriate and not enough people get that. Personally acidic anger is most common. The poorly allotted will never experience some of the richness life has to offer because they can't do otherwise. Systems of justice should all be centered around pity and game theory.
@godsven3loquist Ah. I see the date there. If all I aspire to comes to be, my guess is that if I sampled different kinds of wagyu I'd come to the same conclusion as you regarding Nagi. I made tri-tip/chuck smash burgers over the weekend with a notable flavor improvement over brisket/chuck.
@godsven3loquist People that earn that right know the difference between looking out for someone and winning an argument. I've lost my desire to win arguments. I think it wastes my talents and is easy compared to looking out for the well-being of my friends, which is also much more rewarding.
@godsven3loquist Boundaries are also indications of what battles aren't worth fighting most of the time, especially if you value a friendship. If a friend wants to make their own mistakes, it's rarely a good idea to get in their way. I'm just selective about people that learn from their mistakes.
