Seeing real life people argue that Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow had an ambiguous ending is genuinely baffling like it’s gone beyond a literary crisis atp
@TheLimaBeanie Also “pretending to care” people do care about the main theme of a comic being misunderstood in an adaptation. Just cuz you clearly don’t care, doesn’t mean others shouldn’t
@TheLimaBeanie I’m saying to you is that it’s not ambiguous at all. It’s clear that he doesn’t die, if not for what actually happens in issue 8, but cuz of the whole point of the book. I am shocked, and I assume King is too that people are confused cuz the comic would be pointless.
@TheLimaBeanie I already showed you’re definitely meant to trust the visuals. Ruthye killing him would go against the central theme of the comic that King set up throughout and compounded even in this final issue. The only way to be confused is to not understand the comic/not read it properly
@TheLimaBeanie No shade like I’m not trying to be rude, but did you read the book. Ruthye’s “narration” only says that cuz it’s from her book and she only wrote that so that the brigand didn’t come after her. There’s genuinely no way to be confused about the ending if you read it
@rongauchodinho@Yassin_Kent@dilrhubarb Yeah because that’s not what the argument is about 😭 no one’s saying any of the examples you gave making you late alone is bad inherently. It’s consistently being late or a pattern of lateness, cause that is clearly the fault of the individual not outside factors
@rongauchodinho@Yassin_Kent@dilrhubarb Yh thanks for repeating one of the phrases you said that made me think you misunderstood the argument really changed my opinion
@rongauchodinho@Yassin_Kent@dilrhubarb Ok so this thread was clearly talking about people who are consistently late not people who are sometimes late because of extenuating circumstances like that was obvious man
@TENTAKALES People with disabilities regularly play video games I’m sorry and even if they couldn’t that doesn’t mean 1) perfectly abled people who watch gameplays get a pass and 2) they’re a fan of something they haven’t played. Like it’s not ableist is literally how things work
@Roadhogdgod Gaming isn’t a spectator sport tho, like not inherently. Multiplayer games that are played for esports tournaments definitely are but to act like God of War, or most of the games this discussion is about, are similar is not really accurate. Like the genre is too broad for that
@CarmackAnthony@Dioscuri_@chinpokomane@thysss50227967 See here you’ve outlined my key issue which is that people are more concerned with being part of a fandom than playing the game. Again I’m sorry but through what you’ve described, ig you can be “part of the fandom” but you can’t be a fan of a game that you haven’t played 🤷🏿♂️
@CarmackAnthony@Dioscuri_@chinpokomane@thysss50227967 They’re called “video games” cuz you have to play them to be a fan of the game. Otherwise you’re a fan of certain aspects. The gameplay is the core part of it. Also your point only works for story-based games. If I said I was a fan of balatro after just watching it you’d laugh
@omgggoodddd@SolidShrimp@GambitoAlter Bro I’m so sorry you’re categorically not “eating the sandwich”. Even if I concede that it’s like missing an ingredient, it’s like saying you like burgers but you’ve never eaten one with a patty, like it is a fundamental part of the experience that completely changes it it’s gone
@pvyarty@skeleoncemore I knew it lol people were genuinely mad af when they opened lost hero and his ass was there instead of Percy 😭😭 Gonna assume the girl was piper cuz she was with Jason 😭
@omgggoodddd@SolidShrimp@GambitoAlter Well no because just like how you correctly identified the fact that you’re not eating the sandwich, you’re not playing the game. The examples bad tho, it should be that it’s you watching someone eat a sandwich and saying you like it too tho
