Are we so blinded by religion that we justify and normalize the rape of children?
I am speechless at the audacity of these "professional men" to come in front of cameras and speak like this.
We have really failed as a country...
Shameful.
In 1984, Jiddu Krishnamurti explained how to end every form of fear known to humankind.
No psychologist or philosopher ever came close to him.
His frameworks:
• Thought creates fear
• Time sustains fear
• Escape strengthens fear
13 lessons on ending fear completely:
A surprising number of people were interested in my solar setup and have been asking me how to go about doing it, so I wrote a brief guide. It goes into the basics in as much detail as I know.
Please share if useful!

Over the past few years I've had many discussions with people who want to build a house in Sri Lanka. Based on my experiences, I wrote a detailed guide to all the things you're going to learn the hard way.
Hope it's useful. Pass it on if it is.

Helpful update for students, you can now take full practice SATs for free in the @GeminiApp.
It uses vetted content from @ThePrincetonRev and gives you feedback straight away. Starting with the SAT today, but more tests are on the way!
I’m sure many share blame for #SriLanka’s current #Ditwah mess.
The sitting president, the former presidents, the wannabe presidents, the telcos, the DMC, the CEB, the DSDs, the GNDs, the ABCDEFGs, the whole parade of “other people” you're always complaining about.
But right now, unless you're drunk, or stoned, or jobless with unlimited time, or sitting abroad with no #SkinInTheGame in Lanka, or have just discovered the joys of playing armchair expert with ChatGPT, or you honestly want Sri Lanka to slide into full, failed-state mode, then whining about “what could have been”, “they should have done it like this”, or “we would have done better” is utterly pointless.
It is worse than pointless.
Because it drags down and demoralises the people actually trying to stop things deteriorating further and, with some luck, make them better.
If you want to help, then help. If you want to be constructive, then construct. Offer time, offer money, offer expertise, and offer to fix the problem.
If not, kindly STFU. 🙏
We Sri Lankans have an unbelievable tolerance for nonsense. Instead of fixing things that exploit or harm us, we adjust, and then adjust again. @dialoglk has taken full advantage of that tolerance for years and milked it for profit. It needs to end.
LNG on Paper, Diesel in Reality: 350MW Sahasdhanavi CEB's newest power plant deal
⭕ CEB signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 350 MW Sahasdhanavi Combined Cycle Power Plant, meant to be LNG-based, built by Sahasdhanavi Ltd on a build, own, operate & transfer (BOOT) basis.
⭕ Despite its LNG label, the plant will run on diesel initially, with a future upgrade planned. This mirrors the Sobadhanavi 1 plant, touted as Sri Lanka's first LNG facility, which President Ranil Wickremesinghe opened before the 2024 elections and still runs on diesel.
⭕ The reality is Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 currently lacks operational LNG infrastructure, including a terminal, regasification facility, storage tanks, or connecting pipelines. There is no concrete, realistic operational plan or timeline for building this infrastructure. They exist on paper, but with continued delays, very little has been done to date to build the infrastructure. It's a miracle if these can get running on LNG within the next 5 years.
⭕CEB got the approval for the project basically with presenting cabinet paper with wrong numbers, PUCSL warned Cabinet was misled on project costs, stating outdated figures were used:
- Diesel prices at Rs.111/litre (actual price: ~Rs.285/litre)
- LNG at $10/MMBtu (realistic 2025 market rate: ~$17/MMBtu or more)
- Exchange rate at Rs.195/USD (current rate: ~Rs.300/USD)
⭕ Based on real market data, PUCSL estimates CEB will pay Rs. 72+ per kilowatt-hour (kWh), significantly higher than the claimed Rs. 20. (Ref: PUCSL letter, April 3, 2025).
⭕ If CEB is willing to pay Rs.72/kWh for diesel electricity, why couldn't they offer better proposals for battery-backed solar power at Rs.56/kWh for peak-time usage? It would have the additional benefit of allowing a percentage of current daytime generation to be moved to peak time, contributing to a much more stable grid in the day time.
⭕ Political parties may trade power in Sri Lanka, but behind the scenes, the 'Diesel Mafia' continues its stranglehold on energy policy, ensuring fossil fuels remain dominant while clean energy solutions are methodically sidelined and suppressed.

Can someone lead Sri Lanka without becoming a racist? Can we lead with empathy and love without changing spots faster than a leopard? If racism and division excite the majority, where is the real problem, the politicians or the people?
