April and May my position sizing was roughly $50-70k on day trades and six figures+ on swing trades.
Around mid June I sized down across the board to around $50k.
In July I’m back to keeping it small, under $25k.
As soon as conditions improve, the size and intensity go right back up.
I posted 1 chart yesterday... and it was $HIMS.
Now it's up +6%, great follow-through on the long-term idea, and the fact that healthcare has become 1 of the leading groups over the last few weeks only adds to the thesis.
Good looks so far, time to let it work!
Chart: $HIMS.
Something I've realized in the last 24 months is that trading performance is often downstream of IDENTITY.
Individuals naturally gravitate toward behaviors that reinforce their self-perception.
Developing the habits of consistently profitable traders (aka - patience, discipline, risk management, and emotional stability) can gradually reshape both intraday execution and long-term outcomes.
Become the kind of person who consistently makes better decisions in your own trading.
Then reap the rewards of doing so + repeat & revise weekly.
Simple to renew the mind, but not EASY.
If you haven't realized, the way you talk to yourself eventually shows up in your trading.
When I was constantly thinking like a struggling trader, I acted like one.
I'd chase, force trades + revenge trade & second-guess everything.
Act like you're profitable + do the work.
@ohiain In a choppy market, I’d always be beating myself up for missing something, take another trade, then hold that one too long thinking it was bound to be another 500%+ if only I could just be stubborn enough
@ohiain Very true…this is more of an inner journey than an outer one. Meet your shadow and come to terms with it…integrate it and you can stay in this work.
I've been hammering + posting about $AMZN for the last 2 weeks.
So hopefully a few of you made Jeff Bezos pay for your coffee.
I'm done for the week, off to the beach (and yes, the beaches in Greece really are as ridiculous as everyone says).
Chart: $AMZN.
